As I am sitting at my desk on this Friday the 13th, my mind is reflecting on a couple of things (one is not that it is Friday the 13th). My reflections are about the year we just finished and the year we have just started. Both bring good thoughts.
I have known a lot of runners in my life, I just happen not to be one of them, but I have been to multiple running events. It seems to me that running a business is a bit like running a race.
- You take off from the starting line full of preparation, energy, and hope.
- You run through a planned course which has few spectators.
- Then, with the crowd watching, you cross the finish line in anticipation that you have beaten your goal.
The interesting thing to me about these running events is that the starting line and finish line are at the same place. The crowd watches you start and finish, but very few observe you doing the hard work of running the course.
Today, at my desk, I am either at the finish line of 2016 or the starting line of 2017. Whichever it is, it is a good place to be. We are thankful that 2016 was a year where we beat our goals. If we had the opportunity of working on one of your projects last year – We Thank You. We have prepared for 2017 and are looking forward to running the race ahead. As occasions come in 2017 to work with you on your projects, we know that the experiences of years past and the preparation for the year to come will allow us to be a part of a successful run.
Give us a call, we would be delighted to run with you on your next project.
